July 10th Hartford’s premier minor league baseball team, the Hartford Yard Goats, will take on the Altoona Curve at 7:05 pm. Join fellow baseball enthusiasts at Dunkin’ Donuts Park to cheer on the local team and celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks show. Ticket prices vary but make sure to book ahead of time as this popular game may sell out!
This year the Riverfront Food Truck Festival will return to Mortensen Riverfront Plaza in Hartford, CT. This event isn’t actually on the 4th of July (it’s July 15-17) but it takes place each year right around July 4th when spirits are high and the weather is good! The food trucks will be serving delicious meals and treats each day from 11 am to 8 pm.
Also on July 13, Hartford will host what looks just like a 4th of July celebration except for the date. This patriotic Firework Show is near the Food Truck Festival, so you can hit TWO of the best 4th of July spots near Manchester CT. Enjoy music in Mortensen Riverfront Plaza starting at 7 pm, then head over to the riverfront to watch the sky light up.
Just a 40-minute drive from Manchester in Old Sturbridge Village, Massachusetts, is one of the coolest Independence Day celebrations around. At this all-day event (9:30 am- 5 pm) visitors get the chance to participate in a citizens’ parade and take part in fun historical reenactments and activities including playing 19th-century style baseball, marching with the militia, and signing a giant copy of the Declaration of Independence. Food vendors will be at the even with beer, wine, and summer barbeque food and there will be plenty of games and activities for the kids.
