Winterfest Hartford
It’s back! Bushnell Park transforms itself into Winterfest Hartford with winter activities for all. The ice rink offers free skating and skating lessons throughout the day and evenings with a holiday snack shack providing treats and hot chocolate.
Meanwhile, the nearby Bushnell carousel is transformed with Christmas lights and a Christmas carol calliope. Find Santa in Hartford at the carousel every weekend and promises to write a response to everyone who hands him a list!

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play
The Hartford Stage has replaced A Christmas Carol with It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. This is certainly a magical thing to do this Christmas in Hartford! Bring your whole family to the theater to experience this 1940s classic holiday story.

Connecticut’s Holiday Light Fantasia
This is one of those Hartford Christmas events that has become the city’s claim to holiday fame. Pack up the car with kids and snacks for this drive-through holiday light show through Goodwin Park with animated displays of every kind from Disney characters to animals.
Open Thanksgiving Day through New Years Day with Santa making visits on December weekends, this is a Christmas in Hartford event that can’t be missed.

First Night Hartford 2022
Usher in the New Year with family-friendly activities lasting from the afternoon of New Year’s Eve until midnight New Year’s Day. Bushnell Park will be taken over with multicultural presentations, musical and dance performances, horse and carriage rides, and a Grand Parade leading up to the first of two fireworks shows at 6 pm and midnight. Come and celebrate the old year in style before starting 2022 with a bang!
